and I'm guessing you also read his "article" in the zoo news magazine that went out this week? The bluffs "exhibit" didn't sound 10 years away at all.
I just got my copy of EXZOOBERANCE and will scan/post that article soon. Thanks for the reminder!
I think the tone of the letter vs. the tone of your comments on this blog are drastically different.
Why should they respect us if you keep calling them idiots and morons and self serving? The first step in bridging a gap in an argument is at least acting like you respect someone.
The official letters you write show you understand that. Do you not think they look at this blog?
Hmmm... do we need a disclaimer? "The comments posted on this website do not necessarily reflect the views of CPOP, its members, or its board of directors"?
Or are you objecting to the tone of our blog in general?
I think the tone of the zoo speaking vs. the tone of the zoo actions are drastically different.
Why should we respect you when you say one thing and do another? Or DON'T say anything and rape the land!?
That last comment underscores the 9:50pm post's importance.
How could Brady or anyone from the Zoo listen to you with an open mind after reading on your blog someone basically call them a rapist?
It's like your saying "you're an idiot. Now give in."
the zoo has drastically changed the face of the park by clear-cutting part of it to make way for an artificial exhibit. the zoo management did so without public input. they seem to be headed in the same direction.
brady has not listened before. he should be removed as zoo CEO. He has no respect for nature. Maybe he is not an idiot, but he certainly is ignorant.
How else would one describe the actions that the zoo, under the chancellorship of C.Brady, did to the old growth forest, flora, and fauna? Rapist is an understatement... Terrorist is more on the mark.
Note the chain of events! CPOP respectfully accepted Chuck Brady as a 'negotiation partner'. By rights they might have asked for his prosecution, his removal from office, or monetary damages to the city. Instead you merely asked that the zoo release their hold from additional claimed acres. Although you were never seen as equals in his world, never as REAL citizens with a legitimate concern, you humbly exposed yourself to Brady's belligerent presence. Note for the record that Mr. Strickland (of the city) displayed a very pleasant, genuinely sincere personality from all reports about the meeting. Mr. Brady however was obviously NOT SINCERE, as he used the delay until his eventual response by mail ONLY to have the zoo web-site announce a 'fait-accompli' (done deal, we might say also). If the announcement had come in person Brady might have followed up with this goodbye to CPOP: "Thank you all for being nice protester-people, hmm, I mean citizens and what not! Now get out of the office and let me get on with BUSINESS AS USUAL and have a nice day... "
